The best source I know of are Volumes 1 & 2 of Cris Kohl''s The 100 Best Great Lakes Shipwrecks. The books are comprehensive with good descriptions and location information that will get you either on top of the wreck or pretty darn close.

Amazon.com has them or you can buy them from him at SeawolfCommunications.com

I''d like to make plans for a week of wreck diving in some of the Great Lakes, especially tech-dives.

Are there any good operators out there, and is there any one location where I could go to see a week''s worth of awesome wrecks?

you can check out http://www.glsps.org/'>www.glsps.org  and look under dive show sponsors to see charters that service lake superior north shore and isle royale wrecks.  Also the site has a great link to wreck listings for many areas in great lakes.   This is the Great lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society site.

Ok.

So no replies.

I love to dive - see whats down there reefs, fish n stuff but there is something special about diving on a wreck.

Got a wreck dive that sticks out in your memory?  Why?

Mine was the Eastcliff Haul.

A friend of mine and I discovered the pilot house and helm in the rubble of the #1 hold.  I remember the black and white tile floor and all the wires hanging down - the whole thing was upside down with the floor as the ceiling. very spooky. A great dive.

The next one was when we went over the side of the Eastcliff to the bottom to explore the debris field.

Got a story?
